Our center focuses on providing an environment that promotes learning through play. Throughout our day, we offer many opportunities for child-initiated as well as teacher-directed activities. Our program offers a healthy balance of freedom to encourage individual growth as well as structure to promote cognitive skills. Your child’s materials and activities are carefully chosen and planned by certified teachers with an educational and developmental purpose in mind.
Infant Program
Our teachers understand the importance of each parent’s concerns and will make sure your babies' transition from home is a smooth and comforting experience. Be assured your baby will be held, loved and well taken care of in a safe, nurturing environment. Our teachers focus on providing plenty of personal attention and interaction. Babies are just beginning to make sense of the world around them, as everyday is about exploring and discovering. Throughout your baby’s day, teachers include songs, rhymes, finger plays and stories as well as developmentally appropriate toys, colorful books and music. Every day you will receive verbal and written communication informing you of your baby’s day, including feedings, sleeping and diapering.
Toddler Program
Toddlers are beginning to get a sense of independence, first words, first steps and first friendships. Toddlers are very curious, energetic and busy. Through praise and affection teachers will focus on building confidence and self-esteem. Teachers will introduce concepts of communicating, language building skills, sharing and kindness. Your toddler will have many opportunities to exercise gross motor skills through a variety of activities and outdoor play. Toddlers will enjoy circle time which includes songs, books, pictures, puppets, musical instruments and sensory experiences as well as being introduced to shapes and colors. Information will be sent home daily regarding your toddler’s day including feeding, naptimes and diapering. Teachers realize each child develops at their own unique pace; as your child begins to show interest, teachers will patiently spend time guiding your child with toilet training before they begin our preschool program.
Preschool Program
Preschool is an exciting time for children; they discover a newfound independence. Language, vocabulary and problem solving skills are growing rapidly. Our preschool teachers are enthusiastic and focus on building positive attitudes toward school and learning. Preschool teachers spend a great deal of time observing and listening to children’s ideas so they can continue to keep children engaged in the excitement of learning. Preschoolers begin recognizing letters and numbers. Children are introduced to learning centers, which are designated areas of the classroom that are chosen independently by the child to promote a variety of skills such as math, language, writing, creative art, dramatic play science and sensory. In learning centers, children can work by themselves, with a friend or in a small group, which allows preschoolers to learn in a more meaningful way. Through art projects children will be exposed to a variety of materials, where they will learn to use and manipulate tools. The process of art helps develop self-expression, creativity and fine motor skills needed for early writing. Preschoolers are full of energy so there is plenty of time throughout the day for exercise, music and movement as well as outdoor activities such as jumping, climbing, running and bike riding!
Pre-Kindergarten Program
Our pre-kindergarten program focuses on the developmental skills needed to succeed in kindergarten. Pre-kindergarten teachers plan schedules and routines that will help prepare your child to transition to kindergarten with ease. Everyday your child will have the opportunity to actively participate in circle time and practice teamwork. They will choose daily classroom jobs and share responsibilities with their classmates. Through circle time routines, children will learn social and verbal interaction skills as well as build vocabulary. Children will practice identifying numbers and letters as well as phonemic awareness. Weather, calendar and current events are just some of the items discussed. Children will practice math skills through counting, comparing, patterning, sequencing and graphing. The children will continue to have a healthy balance of teacher-directed activities as well as child-initiated center times. Attention span of the four and five year old begins to increase; therefore, pre-kindergarten teachers will be focusing on daily directed lessons with an emphasis on either writing, math, art, science or social development. They will continue to have plenty of opportunities to promote healthy physical activity through music and movement, exercise and outdoor play.
